Carlo De Michele is an associate professor at the faculty of Hydrology and Water Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. He obtained the title of doctor in the field of Water Engineering in 1997. He is a member of EGU (European Geosciences Union), the Italian School of Statistical Hydrology and a member of the Committee on Probability and Statistics in Physical Sciences C (PS) 2 of the Bernoulli Society. He is also an editor of magazines such as: Hydrology and Earth System Sciences, co-editor of the magazine Advances in Water Resources, as well as adviser to national and international scientific organizations. In the years 2000-2012 he was a member / expert of the National Committee qualifying for the engineering profession. He also issues expert opinions for several agencies, including: NERC, NASA, Research Foundation – Flanders.
