In many cases, investors do not obtain approval for direct discharge into the stormwater sewer system, or the discharge conditions are so restrictive that the water must be managed entirely on site. This is precisely when it becomes crucial to accurately calculate retention capacity and verify different system operating scenarios before the detailed design stage. We prepare concepts for entire industrial zones, large halls and production plants, investment sites, photovoltaic farms, and energy facilities, and then develop the documentation, designs, and water law permits required for project implementation. We also help determine — and often reduce — stormwater discharge fees.

Flooding = major losses

From a business perspective, the stakes are high. Available studies show the scale of the problem: one day of business interruption for companies affected by flooding costs, on average, around 0.5% of annual revenue. Allianz identified this risk as the world’s No. 2 global business risk in the Risk Barometer 2025 and indicates that flooding is one of the most costly natural hazards, generating global losses of USD 2–3 billion per year, while 1 in 10 existing industrial facilities is located in a flood risk zone.
