Project aim
The aim of the project was to prepare the “Methodology of retention basins volume capacity calculation” for retention basins in the concept plan being the attachment to an application for cofinancing the programme called “Development and redevelopment of stormwater drainage system and adapting it to climate changes on the area of the city of Bydgoszcz.
Project description
The cope of the project comprised literature study, studies and local analyses of precipitation series in Bydgoszcz, in order to:
- Prepare guidelines for a simplified model of calculation the volume capacity of small retention basins for stormwater.
- Prepare guidelines for determining the volume capacity of large retention basins for stormwater using hydrodynamic modelling.
- Define standards for local precipitation data used to calculate retention basins volume capacity.
- Prepare potential methodology for the identification of local model precipitation for the city of Bydgoszcz used to calculate retention basins volume capacity on the basis of hydrodynamic simulations, including the retention basins listed in designs submitted to the Contractor.
Solutions applied
A German guideline DWA A-117 was used to size the basin.
