Good decisions start with data, not assumptions.

We design and deliver measurement campaigns for rainfall, water levels, and flows in watercourses as well as stormwater and combined sewer networks. We deploy monitoring equipment, define the scope of the campaign, analyse the results, and use them for hydrodynamic model calibration, risk assessment, retention planning, and optimisation of system operation and stormwater charges payable to Polish Waters.

Data from measurement campaigns forms the basis for building and calibrating the models that we then use in strategic advisory work, concept development, investment planning, and the design of specific technical solutions. It is on this basis that the current situation can be reliably compared with target scenarios and the effectiveness of planned measures can be assessed. Measurement campaigns therefore support not only system monitoring, but also the development of stormwater management strategies, preparation of design documentation, and data-driven decision-making.

We make monitoring data available through digital tools such as RainBrain, giving municipal services constant access to the information they need for response activities, for example in crisis management teams and centres, as well as for planning, reporting, communication with residents, and promoting responsible stormwater management. Measurement campaigns also provide the foundation for local rainfall models and warning systems.

Local Rainfall Model

We prepare an up-to-date local rainfall model (a model of design rainfall intensities), which can serve as the basis for the proper design of stormwater drainage systems and for supplying hydrological and hydrodynamic models of a city’s drainage system. It is also recommended when applying for EU funding for investment projects.

The basis for the local rainfall model is our Polish Atlas of Design Rainfall Intensities (PANDa), built on a rainfall database covering three decades and recorded using 100 rain gauges compliant with Polish measurement standards. This is a unique dataset on local rainfall, providing a reliable source of information essential for network design in the era of climate change.

Because infrastructure projects have long life cycles, it is often recommended to develop a rainfall model that takes climate change into account up to the year 2050. We therefore prepare local models of forecast rainfall up to 2050 for a city or a specific area. The model is aligned with the scenarios prepared by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) under pathways RCP 4.5 or RCP 8.5, and can serve as source material for concept studies and drainage system expansion plans.

We also provide water law documentation based on PANDa data, which guarantees a high substantive quality of the document. The water law documentation we prepare is consistent with building designs, applicable acts and regulations, and includes all required calculations and graphical appendices.
